This Privacy Policy explains how Casting Quarter collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when people use the Casting Quarter mobile app, website and related services.

Casting Quarter is a casting platform for Artists and Casting Companies. Casting Quarter is operated by the developer identified on the app's App Store product page. For data-protection purposes, that operator is responsible for deciding how personal information is used.

2. Information We Collect
Casting Quarter may collect and store the following information:
- account details, including name, email address, phone number, account type and login status;
- artist profile information, including stage name, date of birth, location, nationality, category, disciplines, skills, availability, biography, CV, photos, videos, showreel links and social links;
- company profile information, including company name, contact name, business email, phone number, website, location, company information, verification details, profile photo and production images;
- casting information, including casting title, production name, categories, role types, location, contract dates, audition dates, deadlines, pay information, requirements and submission instructions;
- application information, including applications, shortlist status, withdrawn applications and proposal status;
- in-app messages and proposal conversations;
- moderation reports, support requests, responses and safety actions;
- subscription status and purchase entitlement information from Apple;
- push notification tokens and notification event information;
- technical information needed to keep the app secure and working, such as account identifiers, timestamps and app activity connected to app functionality.
Casting Quarter does not intentionally collect payment card details. Payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store.
3. Where Information Comes From
Most information comes directly from users when they register, complete profiles, publish castings, apply, message, upload media, contact support or change settings. Casting Quarter also receives:
- subscription and transaction entitlement information from Apple;
- reports or application information submitted by other users;
- technical and delivery information from service providers that operate authentication, hosting, storage, email and notifications.
4. How We Use Information
Casting Quarter uses information to:
- create and manage artist, company and moderator accounts;
- show Artist profiles to approved Casting Companies, with CV access controlled by the Artist's application or sharing permissions;
- show casting opportunities to artists;
- allow artists to apply for castings;
- allow companies to review applicants and shortlist artists;
- enable matched proposal messaging where subscriptions and privacy settings allow it;
- verify company accounts and moderate platform activity;
- respond to support, safety and data requests;
- send app notifications about messages, applications, shortlist updates, moderation replies and account activity;
- protect the platform from fraud, misuse, impersonation and unsafe content;
- meet legal, regulatory, App Store and security requirements.
5. Legal Bases
Where UK GDPR, EU GDPR or similar privacy laws apply, Casting Quarter relies on one or more of these legal bases:
- Contract: processing needed to create accounts and provide requested app features;
- Legitimate interests: operating, securing and improving the platform; preventing fraud and misuse; providing support; and moderating content, balanced against users' rights;
- Legal obligations: processing needed to comply with applicable law, lawful requests, accounting duties or regulatory requirements;
- Consent: where the app specifically asks for consent. Consent can be withdrawn, but this does not affect processing already carried out lawfully.
6. How Information Is Visible And Shared
Casting Quarter may show relevant profile, casting and application information inside the app:
- artist profile information may be visible to companies using talent search, applicant review and proposal workflows;
- company profile and casting information may be visible to artists;
- application and message information may be visible to the relevant artist and company;
- moderation and support information may be visible to Casting Quarter moderators or support staff.
Casting Quarter may also use trusted service providers to run the app, including hosting, database, email, storage, push notification and App Store payment services.
Casting Quarter does not sell personal data.
7. Service Providers And International Transfers
Casting Quarter uses service providers such as Supabase for authentication, database, backend functions and file storage; Apple for App Store subscriptions and push notifications; Resend and configured email providers for service emails; and GitHub Pages and domain providers for this website.
These providers may process information in the United Kingdom, European Economic Area, United States or other countries where they operate. Where required, Casting Quarter relies on recognised transfer mechanisms, such as adequacy regulations or contractual safeguards, and the provider's security and data-protection commitments.
8. User Choices
Users can:
- edit profile and contact information in app settings;
- control some privacy settings, such as in-app messaging and public media watermarking;
- delete their account from app settings;
- request a copy of their account data by emailing support@castingquarter.com from their registered email address;
- contact Casting Quarter about privacy, moderation or support issues.
9. Privacy Rights
Depending on location and the legal basis used, users may have rights to:
- access personal information and receive a copy;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
- request deletion of personal information;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive information they provided in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing relies on consent;
- complain to a data-protection regulator.
These rights are not absolute and may be limited where information must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute or other lawful reasons.
10. Data Copy Requests
To request a copy of account data, email support@castingquarter.com with the subject: Casting Quarter data copy request.
For security, Casting Quarter may ask the requester to verify that they control the account before releasing account data.
11. Account Deletion
Users can request account deletion in the app. Deletion removes account access and account data where deletion is legally and technically possible.
Some information may be retained where required for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, dispute, accounting or moderation reasons.
12. Data Retention
Casting Quarter keeps account information while an account is active. After deletion or closure, information is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed. Retention periods are determined by the type of information and the need to provide the service, complete backups, protect users, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, keep necessary moderation records, and meet legal or accounting obligations.
Apple retains purchase records under its own policies. Service providers may retain limited backup or security records for their documented backup and legal-retention periods.
13. Security
Casting Quarter uses technical and organisational measures intended to protect account data, including account authentication, role-based database access, moderation controls and server-side secrets for sensitive backend keys.
No online service can guarantee complete security.
14. Automated Decisions
Casting Quarter does not currently make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Filters, matching criteria and subscription checks may affect which content or features appear, but account moderation and company approval decisions can be reviewed by a person.
15. Age Restriction
Casting Quarter is intended only for people aged 18 and over. Users confirm that they are at least 18 when registering. We use the date of birth entered during artist registration to apply this age restriction and support age-relevant casting information.
16. United States Privacy Information
Casting Quarter does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. Users in US states with applicable privacy laws may request access, correction or deletion by contacting support. Casting Quarter will not discriminate against users for exercising applicable privacy rights.
17. Changes
Casting Quarter may update this Privacy Policy as the app develops. The latest version will be published on this page.
